I’m able to express myself to the audience without limits.Īppreciate the insights and wisdom. Using a camera to tell stories allows me to combine all my experiences as a storyteller. Currently, I’m a Cinematographer & Content Creator/Editor. I would write about life’s lessons, my experiences growing up, as well as consequences and rewards for exemplifying certain types of behavior. As technology progressed, I realized, drawing wasn’t my gift, it was a gateway to my gift, which is storytelling. They always said something without a person saying anything. I really had a love for drawing human eyes. This time when I showed her, she replied “How did you teach yourself how to draw in a day”? I would carry this gift with me as I got older. I said “no”, and went to the kitchen table to draw another character from the book. A day later, I would return to my Grandmother’s house to show her my progress and she asked if I traced it. Once I had a better understanding, I attempted to draw another one of the pictures from the coloring book. I studied the lines and they flowed as well as where and how they connected. Needless to say, I went home that evening, determined to be more accurate in my drawing. She pretended to be excited (years later she told me it was an ugly drawing □). When I thought I was done, I ran to show my grandmother. I flipped through the coloring book for a picture that I liked and began to copy what I saw on the blank page. I remember staring at the blank pages in the sketch pad thinking to myself “What goes here”. When we got back to her house, she left me at the kitchen table while she went in the living room to watch TV. When I was 6 years old, she bought me a coloring book, crayons, color pencils, & a sketch pad from the dollar tree. I would have to credit my Grandmother with helping me find my purpose, or at least putting me on the path to finding my purpose. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose.
